With first hand experience of knowing how hearing problems can affect family life, Colin set up a service to assist others with hearing problems just before the millennium year when Braemar Audiology was launched. Operating from his home in Tiverton, business flourished and word soon spread about this family run business offering quality care and professional service.

By 2004, demand was so intense that Colin felt the need to expand his business into Honiton High Street by opening Honiton Hearing Centre - a modern practice equipped with state-of-the art computerised equipment and a sound dampened hearing test booth. In 2008 Colin moved the practice into the new premises in New street, and Samantha his wife joined him in the business in July 2008. Colin & Samantha welcome people into their new purpose designed centre for personal appointments and consultations covering hearing tests, hearing aids and hearing protection. Each client can expect to be asked questions about their hearing loss, followed by a simple examination of the ear drum and ear canal to assess the health of each ear, using a video otoscope. Subsequent tests using a state-of-the-art computerised audiometer will then establish the extent of hearing loss, when a system to suit - matched with the lifestyle and pocket of each client - can be discussed. The hearing aid prescribed can then be built to suit the client's needs, and fitted using the latest Speech mapping technology available. An all-make hearing aid repair service is also available on a drop-off and collect later system. In addition, if manufacturers' repairs are required, quotations can be arranged. |
